The Opportunity
Our client is seeking a licensed insurance professional to support clients with their property and casualty insurance needs. The successful candidate will combine strong insurance knowledge with responsive client service, accurate documentation, and the ability to identify appropriate coverage solutions.
The Role
Reporting to the Brokerage Manager, the Insurance Broker will work directly with clients to assess insurance needs, provide coverage recommendations, obtain and compare quotations, process policy changes, and manage renewals. This role requires strong attention to detail, clear communication, and a commitment to providing professional and compliant insurance advice.
What You'll Do
- Advise clients on property and casualty insurance products and available coverage options
- Assess client needs, exposures, and existing insurance coverage
- Obtain quotations from insurance carriers and present appropriate options to clients
- Prepare and process new business applications, endorsements, renewals, cancellations, and policy changes
- Maintain accurate and complete client records within the brokerage management system
- Review renewal documentation and proactively contact clients regarding coverage changes or recommendations
- Respond to client questions regarding policies, premiums, billing, coverage, and general insurance matters
- Identify opportunities to improve coverage and provide additional insurance solutions based on client needs
- Communicate with insurance carriers, underwriters, and internal brokerage teams to resolve client matters
- Provide required disclosures and documentation in accordance with regulatory and brokerage requirements
- Maintain current knowledge of insurer products, underwriting requirements, market conditions, and regulatory obligations
- Support clients throughout the insurance lifecycle while maintaining a high standard of professionalism and service
What You Bring
- Active RIBO Level 1 licence or higher in good standing
- Knowledge of property and casualty insurance products and coverage principles
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong client service and relationship management skills
- Ability to review insurance documentation accurately and explain coverage in clear terms
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple client files and deadlines
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Ability to maintain confidential client and business information
- Comfort working with brokerage management systems, insurer portals, email, and standard business software
- Ability to meet applicable RIBO regulatory, ethical, continuing education, and professional conduct requirements
- Preferred: Post-secondary education in business, insurance, finance, or a related field
- Preferred: Previous experience within a property and casualty insurance brokerage or related insurance environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience working within an Ontario insurance brokerage
- Experience servicing personal lines, commercial lines, or a combination of insurance accounts
- Experience working directly with insurance carriers and underwriters
- Experience with policy renewals, remarketing, endorsements, and new business submissions
- Additional insurance education or industry designations
- RIBO Level 2 licence or other advanced insurance credentials

The successful candidate will be expected to operate in accordance with brokerage procedures and all applicable RIBO requirements.
