The Opportunity
Star Staffing is building a talent network of Civil Engineers for future opportunities across the Greater Toronto Area and surrounding Ontario markets. The Role
Future Civil Engineer opportunities involve the planning, design, analysis, coordination, management, and delivery of civil engineering projects. Positions span multiple disciplines—including land development, municipal infrastructure, transportation, structural, water resources, construction, environmental, and utilities—and range from early-career engineering roles to intermediate, senior, project engineering, and project management positions.
What You'll Do
- Plan, design, analyze, and support civil engineering projects.
- Prepare and review engineering calculations, drawings, specifications, reports, and technical documentation.
- Develop practical engineering solutions that meet project, client, regulatory, and technical requirements.
- Coordinate with clients, consultants, contractors, municipalities, regulatory authorities, and multidisciplinary project teams.
- Review engineering drawings, designs, plans, and technical submissions.
- Support project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and delivery.
- Participate in site investigations, inspections, field reviews, and construction activities where required.
- Support permitting, approvals, procurement, tendering, and construction administration.
- Assess engineering risks, constraints, and project requirements.
- Apply applicable engineering standards, codes, regulations, and industry best practices.
- Provide technical guidance and support to project teams.
- Contribute to the successful delivery of projects from concept through completion.
What You Bring
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- Relevant civil engineering education, experience, or professional background appropriate to the opportunity.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, reports, and technical documentation.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage priorities and work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
- Authorization to work in Canada for the applicable opportunity.
Preferred Qualifications
- EIT or P.Eng. designation, or eligibility for registration with Professional Engineers Ontario.
- Previous civil engineering experience in consulting, construction, municipal, infrastructure, development, utilities, or government environments.
- Experience with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation, Revit, GIS, or other relevant engineering software.
- Knowledge of Ontario engineering standards, regulations, codes, and approval processes.
- Project coordination or project management experience.
- Experience interacting with clients, contractors, municipalities, or regulatory authorities.
- Field, construction, inspection, or contract administration experience.
- Valid Ontario driver's licence where site travel is required.
