The Opportunity
Star Staffing is building a network of Architectural Technologists for future opportunities with architectural firms, engineering firms, developers, builders, construction organizations, and multidisciplinary design practices. This campaign is intended for professionals interested in residential, commercial, institutional, industrial, mixed-use, and other built-environment projects. The Role
Future Architectural Technologist opportunities may involve producing architectural drawings, construction documents, details, permit packages, BIM models, and other technical design documentation. Roles may range from junior production positions to experienced technologist, BIM, project coordination, and job captain opportunities. Responsibilities will vary based on the type and complexity of projects undertaken by each employer.
What You'll Do
- Prepare architectural drawings, details, plans, sections, and elevations.
- Develop and maintain construction documentation and drawing packages.
- Create and update BIM and CAD models.
- Coordinate architectural drawings with structural, mechanical, electrical, and other disciplines.
- Review design information for technical accuracy and constructability.
- Assist with building permit submissions and other approval documentation.
- Incorporate design revisions and consultant information into project documents.
- Support architects, designers, project managers, and construction teams.
- Review shop drawings, product information, and technical submissions where required.
- Participate in project coordination meetings.
- Assist with field reviews, site documentation, and construction administration.
- Apply applicable building codes, standards, zoning requirements, and technical guidelines.
What You Bring
- Diploma or degree in Architectural Technology, Architecture, Building Science, or a closely related discipline.
- Ability to prepare and interpret architectural and construction drawings.
- Working knowledge of CAD, BIM, or architectural design software.
- Strong technical drafting and documentation skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to coordinate with multidisciplinary project teams.
- Authorization to work in Canada for the applicable opportunity.
Preferred Qualifications
- Proficiency with Revit.
- Experience with AutoCAD.
- Knowledge of the Ontario Building Code.
- Experience preparing permit and construction drawing packages.
- Experience with residential, commercial, institutional, industrial, or mixed-use projects.
- Experience coordinating architectural drawings with engineering consultants.
- BCIN qualification where applicable.
- Membership or eligibility for membership with a relevant professional association.
- Previous experience with an architectural, engineering, development, or construction organization.
